Paleontologists at Work

Today we learned how hard it would be to be a paleontologist digging for dinosaur bones.  With very steady hands the kids used toothpicks to dig chocolate chips out of chocolate chip cookies.  The goal was to try to get as many out without breaking the "bones".

100th Day of School

We've been counting the days of school every morning, just waiting to make it to the 100th day.  We finally made it and celebrated by doing lots of fun activities.  We estimated how long 100 hundred cubes would be, tried to grab 100 pennies and colored our names in a 100 grid.  We also wrote about what we'd buy with $100 dollars, what we'd like to eat 100 of, what we'd like to have 100 of and what we wouldn't want to have 100 of.   Avery grabbed closest to 100 pennies by grabbing 102 and Jake estimated closest to how long 100 cubes was.
