Five Senses

We play lots of games for our 5 senses unit.  Using the sense of sight, the kids looked at several objects then tried to guess which object was removed.  For hearing, they tried to guess what certain sounds were and they tried to match sound pairs.  They sniffed scent canisters to test their sense of smell, and for the sense of touch they tried to find particular objects in the "feely box" just by feeling.  For tasting I had them taste things that were sour, sweet and bitter (that's always a funny one to watch!), then I popped popcorn to reinforce how we use all 5 senses.

Playing Pete's Groovy Buttons Game

We LOVE Pete the Cat books!

In Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons, Pete starts out with four groovy buttons.  He loses them one by one, but does Pete cry??  Goodness, No!  Buttons come and buttons go!  In the end he has no buttons left except....his belly button!!  It just goes to show that stuff will come and stuff will go, but do we cry?  Goodness, no!  We keep on singing!

For our math lesson we played Pete's Groovy Buttons game.  The kids started off with 20 buttons and rolled the dice to remove buttons.
