Community Helpers - EMT

We had our first community helper visit today and the kids were so excited to see the ambulance!  After a brief demonstration of some of their equipment the kids got to look in the ambulance.  They left the school with sirens blaring!

The Magic of Colors

Today I gave the kids a paper plate with red, blue and yellow paint.  I told them to choose any 2 colors and mix them.  They were amazed at what happened!  I told them to choose 2 different colors, then 2 more, then I turned them loose to do whatever they wanted.  They had fun seeing the different combinations and were so excited when they combined all three colors and got brown!  Sorry, some of my pictures didn't turn out well, so I don't have pictures of all the kids.

A Lesson in Sorting and Restraint!

I gave the kids a baggie of assorted m&ms with the instructions--DO NOT EAT!  I told them we were going to sort them first.  After we sorted by size they asked, "Can we eat them now?"  After sorting by color they asked, "Now, can we eat them???"  After we sorted by shape they finally got to eat them!
