CRASH!

One of the ways we work on our sight words is by playing the game "Crash".  The kids take turns turning cars over.  If they can read the sight word, they get to hang on to the car.  If they can't read it, they turn it back over.  If they turn over a "Crash" car, they have to give up all the cars they've already gotten.   I like playing this because the winner isn't always the smartest or fastest.  They also have to be the luckiest!

Another way we will be working on sight words is by having "Tag Day".  Everybody has a tag around their neck with a sight word on it.  I'll be having them tell me the word on their tag before they line up or do other activities.  The tags will also be used for learning numbers and letter sounds.  Every Wednesday will be "Tag Day".
