We had our first outing of the year today--our annual walk to the post office! Nancy gave us a tour and showed some of the interesting stamps we can buy, then the kids got to go on the back dock and look at a mail truck. At the end we bought stamps and the kids mailed postcards to themselves that they had colored. Well....not my class. I forgot the postcards! So I told my kids we'd mail them when we walked to the bank.
Cache has been having leg problems and came to school today with a splint on his leg. A wheelchair was rounded up at school so he got to ride to the post office. Some of the kids probably thought he was pretty lucky, but I'm not so sure. I never realized how many cracks and bumps were in the sidewalks! All I can say is, thank goodness he had a seat belt!! Sorry, Cache!
We had a fun time, the kids were very well behaved and they are looking forward to our next outing.
