Ethne with her almond and pig. |
Welcome to my page! I love taking pictures of the kids in my classroom. I was a stay-at-home mom for 6 years and I was always curious to know what my own boys were doing at school. This is my way of giving you a little peek into our day. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoy sharing!

Marzipan Pig
Marzipan is an almond flavored candy that is frequently shaped into different things. Germans used to make their tree decorations out of marzipan, so the kids got to taste marzipan when we studied Germany. Today we talked about Norway. One of their Christmas traditions is to serve pudding with an almond in one serving. The person who finds the almond gets a prize, usually a marzipan pig, which is a symbol for good luck. Today the kids ate pudding and Ethne was the lucky one who found the almond, so she received the prize pig (unfortunately, not a marzipan one). We also watched The Marzipan Pig.
