Halloween

Since Seymour was going to hold trick-or-treating on Saturday, we went ahead and did our annual Halloween activities on Friday instead of waiting until Monday.  We started the day with our Costume parade.  This year I decided to participate and went as a rag doll.  I wore a yarn wig and was asked all day if it was my real hair.  Mrs. Parrish told me I might need to think about doing something to my hair if the kids can't tell the difference in it and yarn!  : )  After the parade we made Witch's Brew.  Thanks to all the kids and parents for bringing our ingredients.  After mixing all of the ingredients in the black kettle, they were dished out for all to enjoy.  That afternoon we drew pictures of our favorite and least favorite, and graphed the class's votes for favorite.  Most of the kids liked the Earthworms best, but 4 liked the Chicken Toenails best, and 1 each liked the Bat Bones, Skeleton Teeth, Blood Drops, and Cob Webs best.  That afternoon at snack time the kids enjoyed cupcakes arranged to make a jack-o-lantern that were made by Hardy David's mom, Kelly.  Thank you, Kelly!  And thanks to Payton's mom, Kelcy, for planning for our Halloween treat and for providing treat bags.
